The influence of Gregorian chant is predominant, and from a simple melody arises a polyphony that evolves and surprises. From four voices to double choir, this program offers contrasts that refresh the listening experience.

Bringing together three major French composers—Maurice Duruflé, Francis Poulenc, and Olivier Messiaen—this program resonates their magnificent works alongside those of composers Vytautas Miškinis, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Pierre Villette.

Built around Francis Poulenc’s Mass in G Major, this program envelops us in the radiant purity of a tonality that Messiaen associated with gold. Poulenc touches us at the heart, allowing us to behold, unfiltered, the diamond that is French choral writing. Marked by humility, this music is presented without ornamentation and, as often with Poulenc, it speaks simply and directly to the heart.

By exploring spatialization, this concert offers the audience an extraordinary experience—immersed in the purity of sound shaped by the great French masters of the 20th century.
